Massage
You will create your massage with your massage therapist. They will ask you what you need, listen to what you need, and incorporate techniques you discuss before your session. If you already know the style you want, great! You may experience more than one style in a session, and you may change your mind once you arrive. You can ask the therapist to make changes to pressure and style during your session, we encourage this! The possibilities are endless. Have feedback? Never hesitate to email us at diane@freedommassage.com.
FREEDOM MASSAGE
The Freedom Massage is a blend of many modalities that will put you in another world. Your massage will develop depending on YOUR individual needs. It is a custom blend of Swedish, Deep-Tissue, Trigger Point, and Myofascial Techniques, all based on the client’s goals.
SWEDISH MASSAGE
Swedish massage is the most common and best-known type of massage. If this is your first time visiting us or you don’t receive massage often, a Swedish massage is the best place to start. This type of massage uses the power of touch to move clients into a state of total relaxation. Your therapist will use lighter pressure, relaxing and nurturing touch.
DEEP PRESSURE MASSAGE
Deep tissue massage is used to help relieve prolonged muscle tension in the body. Your therapist will use heavy pressure and deliberate movements. This type of massage is good for athletes, focusing on areas of the body that are overused and stressed from repetitive and often aggressive movements. Please note: We do NOT charge extra for deeper pressure.
ONCOLOGY MASSAGE
Massage therapy can be a refreshing complement to anyone in active treatment and those in recovery or survivorship. Living with and going through any cancer treatment can affect the body not just physically but mentally. Massage can introduce a calming and restorative touch to help deal with the pain and stress of treatment as well as just life in general.
PREGNANCY MASSAGE
We provide 60 minute Pregnancy massage sessions. We work with women as early as the first trimester. Our tables and treatment rooms provide ultra-comfortable and safe support for women and their babies through the stages and changes of pregnancy.
Receiving regular massages throughout pregnancy has been shown to lower anxiety, decrease leg and back pain, improve sleep, and decrease levels of stress hormones in the mother. Our therapists will take extra care to make sure you are comfortable and relaxed.
Please note: when booking your first pregnancy session with us, we would like to know how many weeks along you will be at your visit. We would also like to know if your pregnancy has been named a “high risk” pregnancy, or if your pregnancy doctor has determined that there are any special needs or adjustments for your sessions.
CUPPING & GUA SHA
Both Cupping and Gua Sha are techniques that have been practiced for several thousand years within the discipline of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Both techniques involve the use of a tool to generate release of adhesion, restriction and stagnation within soft tissues of the body.
INTEGRATED MANUAL THERAPY
Integrated Manual Therapy is a blend of Orthopedic Massage and Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques used to eliminate protective muscle guarding, help relieve pain, restore balance to soft tissue and increase range of motion.
All therapists at Freedom Massage are trained in many different massage modalities and able to accommodate many client needs and preferences for their bodywork. However, not all of our therapists perform all services offered at Freedom Massage.
Please visit our ABOUT US page to view our staff bios for specific therapist service offerings.
NEW CLIENTS
Freedom Massage is always accepting NEW clients. We ask that you please fill out the intake paperwork ahead of your first appointment. Click here to fill out the New Client Form. When you arrive, your therapist will take you on a brief tour of the studio and treatment rooms before a conversation to discuss your needs and preferences for your massage.
After your session, your therapist will meet you outside of the room and help you through the checkout and rebooking process.
Freedom Massage offers massage for children under 18 years of age. Please note: we ask that parents call to schedule these appointments because not all of our therapists work with Minors. Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent to all massage appointments. The parent must be present in the massage room for the entire session. Also, NO unattended children under the age of 18 years old can be left in our waiting room while family members are in session. If you have any questions, please email or call us and one of our therapists will be happy to help.
PRICING is done by session length. Not session type.
Our sessions are true to the time scheduled. You will be massaged for the full time requested. You may want to compare our 45 minute session pricing to other establishments’ 60 minute session pricing. We do not charge by how long you are here but how long you are on our table.
