Integrated Manual Therapy
These sessions would be done with Eugenia who is a Certified Orthopedic Massage Therapist from the Center for Pain Management with James Waslaski, a Master Myoskeletal Alignment Specialist from the Freedom from Pain Institute with Erik Dalton, and is certified in Advanced Cupping with Range of Motion from Jim Earley.
What is Integrated Manual therapy?
This session is a blend of Orthopedic Massage and Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques.
What are Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques?
“MAT uses contract-relax techniques, to help the nervous system feel less threatened by what has been identified as a painful movement. Active Pain free therapy signals the brain that the previously painful movement is now safe. By doing this repeatedly, the nervous system will often start to disassociate the movement from pain.”– Erik Dalton, www erikdalton.com
What is the goal of Integrated Manual therapy?
The goal of this session is to eliminate protective muscle guarding, help relieve pain, restore balance to soft tissue and increase range of motion. Orthopedic massage focuses on treating patterns of dysfunction. A client assessment will determine the course of the session. Techniques may include: manual massage, stretching, muscle energy techniques, nerve flossing, kinetic cupping and muscle activation, all to bring balance to the kinetic chain. We suggest wearing loose fitting clothing such as gym shorts, sports bra, or tank top.
Integrated Manual Therapy benefits clients with many conditions and can be effective for, but not limited to:
- Trapped Nerves
- Rotator cuff Injuries
- Plantar Fasciitis
- Tendonitis
- Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
- Medial/Lateral Epicondylitis
- Whiplash Injuries
