Diane Matkowski, Owner, LMT, HHC, Author, Continuing Education Provider, Bodyworker for 20+ years, and more…
Diane has been practicing massage for more than 20 years. Although she is the owner of Freedom Massage she is still an active participant in providing bodywork to our clients. She is a graduate of the Owens Institute of Massage and holds a degree in Business Administration. She has been a member in good standing with the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP) since 1997. In 2000 Diane learned Deep-Tissue Structural Release in Harrisburg. She completed a training program for Thai-Yoga Bodywork with the Vedic Conservatory in 2003. She also finished programs at the Ohashi Institute in Manhattan, and the Holistic Health Counseling program at the Integrative Institute of Nutrition in 2005. In 2012 she took Level 1 for Visercal Massage with the Barrel Institute. She published a book, “The Body Is Art: A Mentoring Guide for Massage and Bodywork,” in 2006. Diane has also written articles and been featured in MTJ magazine, Massage and Bodywork Magazine, Different Strokes, Main Line Today, Daily Local News, she has also been a blogger for EmmeNation, an online forum and trusted resource for women. She was the Official Massage Practitioner for the women’s professional soccer team in 2010, the Philadelphia Independence. She also has been an active participant in childbirths as a coach and massage therapist helping women give birth naturally. She has worked closely with leaders in the addictions recovery field and has provided them massage and workshops. Diane works with couples at Breakthrough Healing through Connection Weekend at Caron and provides a new angle on how couples can communicate. She host her own workshops for couples at Freedom Massage that are ongoing. Currently, she is traveling to massage companies and local small businesses as a consultant where she gives advice on how to build a strong massage practice and/or business. Her specialty is using all she has learned, her years of experience, and her passion for her work to provide a massage customized for each session with each client. Diane has been hiring and training massage therapists since Freedom Massage open its doors in 1999. Currently, Diane is not taking on many new clients. She is grateful to have been seeing most of her clients since the 90’s. She is only available for new client’s on occasion, and at a higher rate, on Tuesdays. (additional $40/hr).
